This module works "behind the scenes" to generate a profile of most tool assembly shapes from the "0" point out to the cutting tip. This profile is used for several stages in WinTool processing, including a quick means to view a tool assembly continuity and for the CAM interfaces to export a 3D model to the CAM system.
The Shape Generator works from tool geometry data, NOT from existing drawings. This means that a tool shape can be generated even in the absence of dxf drawings.
Like most of WinTool's output, the shapes are generated "on the fly" from tool data, not simply by calling up a pre-existing drawing (which could be obsolete). These shapes can be saved as a dxf or maniuplated into a 3D solid model using any CAD software, including the included Vector CAD/CAM software.
Below is a typical drawing produced by the Shape Generator. Note there are no dimensions on the drawing. Also note the cutting are is shown in yellow and is on a separate layer from the rest of the assembly.
